Former Miami Dolphins cheerleader Lynn Aronberg never hid her deep, dark secret that she admires Donald Trump<\/a> and his family and the conservative values they represent.<\/p>\n

After all, Aronberg’s two-year-old yellow Labrador is named Ivanka.<\/p>\n

One of the 36-year-old’s favorite photos of all times is a shot of her with the president at Mar-a-Lago, Trump’s private Palm Beach club.<\/p>\n

And her voter ID card has read ‘Republican’ since she first voted 13 years ago.<\/p>\n

Yet, tensions over the Trump presidency ended her marriage to Palm Beach County State Attorney Dave Aronberg just two years after tying the knot, Lynn told DailyMail.com in an exclusive interview at her Boca Raton apartment.<\/p>\n

One of the top Democrats in an otherwise Republican territory, Dave Aronberg is a former state senator eyeing a statewide office after his reelection as top prosecutor in a county that’s home to several Trump businesses.<\/p>\n

And Lynn tells DailyMail.com he would been hard-pressed to continue rising among the state’s liberal elite with a wife whose social media profile picture shows Donald Trump.<\/p>\n

‘It’s silly but the tensions over Donald were very real,’ Lynn Aronberg says.<\/p>\n

Lynn filed for divorce in February, and her approval of a confidential settlement expected to pay her about $100,000 is scheduled to end the case within the next few days.<\/p>\n

The national press has called the split ‘the Trump divorce’ as reality TV producers started knocking on Lynn’s door with ideas for a show.<\/p>\n

And that’s when she’s not fielding calls or responding to emails from male Trump supporters who want her to have their babies.<\/p>\n

Lynn started leaning towards the political right while in college at University of Florida. She said she naturally gravitated towards Republican circles\u00a0<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

Still, like many others, the story of the split is one of broken hearts and hurt feelings.<\/p>\n

‘First of all, Dave loves Donald Trump as much as I do,’ Lynn Aronberg says. ‘And Donald loves Dave. Donald even organized a fundraiser for my ex-husband in 2010, when he ran for Attorney General of Florida.<\/p>\n

‘I’ve been to Mar-a-Lago with Dave countless times, and Donald Trump often sought us out to say hi.<\/p>\n

‘When I was first introduced to Donald, he said to Dave: ‘Where did you find this one? Women must like power more than money.’ I thought it was funny because Dave isn’t rich, and Donald was sorta making fun of Dave.<\/p>\n

‘When Dave took the photo of me and Donald, the photo that so upset Dave’s supporter, Donald told him to hold the camera higher for a better angle.’<\/p>\n

‘Where did you find this one?’ When President Trump first met Dave, he joked about how Lynn must have been attracted to power, not money, because he wasn’t very rich\u00a0<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

Lynn felt like her ex sided with people complaining about her photo with President Trump which contributed to the demise of their marriage<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

The tensions, she says, were caused by her husband’s political backers, and his unwillingness to defend her.<\/p>\n

‘We were at a party after Donald became the Republican nominee, and Dave’s gets a phone call from a local Democratic leader,’ Lynn recalls. ‘And I see his face turn white. It was over me liking on Facebook something Ivanka had done.<\/p>\n

‘A few weeks later, we were in L.A. and he gets another call about my profile photo including Donald Trump. Needless to say, we had arguments about that stuff. I felt like he was siding with the people who were harassing him about my choices.’<\/p>\n

Dave’s liberal friends, she says, were poisoning his mind about their marriage.<\/p>\n

‘Left wing activists were very rude to me and to Dave. They were hypocrites, too. With a platform that includes women’s rights, they were trying to dictate my life choice through my husband.’<\/p>\n

Lynn says he started leaning towards the political right while in college at University of Florida. The daughter of a building contractor and a waitress raised in the Republican stronghold of New Port Richey, Lynn says she naturally gravitated toward Republican circles.<\/p>\n

Politics mattered less when she became a cheerleader for the Miami Dolphins in 2006 and the next two seasons.<\/p>\n

‘In 2007, we won one game. And that’s the game I couldn’t work because I was sick,’ she says.<\/p>\n

Knowing what she knows now, Lynn said she might not have said ‘yes’ when Dave proposed to her\u00a0from the top of the Eiffel Tower<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

Lynn criticized left-wing activists for condemning her political leanings. She said they were hypocritical to try to\u00a0dictate her life choices through her husband<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

Meanwhile, she saw the man who would become her husband at charity functions. Lynn also worked in public relations.<\/p>\n

‘In my mind, I called him the short Democrat,’ she says. ‘I wasn’t that impressed then.’<\/p>\n

Suddenly in 2013 Dave, who’d just been elected to his first term as State Attorney, contacted her out of the blue on Facebook. And they started dating.<\/p>\n

‘At first, Dave was more than OK with the fact I was a Republican,’ Lynn says. ‘He was known in politics for his ability to work with both sides. I made him look like a moderate that Republicans could vote for.’<\/p>\n

In December 2014, Dave popped the question from the top of the Eiffel Tower in Paris. They were married on a Gulf Coast beach five months later in a sunset ceremony attended by a dozen family members.<\/p>\n

‘Actually, I was about to break up with him,’ Lynn says.<\/p>\n

Of all people, her then-PR client George Hamilton, the extremely tanned actor of Love At First Bite and Zorro, The Gay Blade, had advised her to force Dave to propose by breaking up with him first.<\/p>\n

Had she known then what she knows now, Lynn says, she might not have said ‘yes.’<\/p>\n

‘I’m definitely looking to marry a Republican now,’ she says. ‘Although I’m convinced you can make a mixed political marriage work. You just have to be nice to each other.’\u00a0<\/p>\n
