KIM Kardashian just filed for divorce from husband Kanye West, but their marriage has reportedly been over for more than two years.<\/strong><\/p>\n

The rapper\u2019s controversial comments about slavery in 2018 brought upon the downfall of the power couple\u2019s relationship.<\/p>\n

A source told Us Weekly<\/a> that Kim, 40, took issue with many of the things Kanye<\/a>, 43, said in public over the years, and the personal stories he shared about them last year were the final straws.<\/p>\n

The insider said: \u201cThe turning point in Kim and Kanye\u2019s marriage was when he said that slavery was a choice.<\/p>\n

\u201cThey went through a really rough patch in the aftermath of that. Kim was completely mortified by Kanye\u2019s ridiculous and outrageous comments.\u201d<\/p>\n

The source added: \u201cIt took a lot for them to move past it, but they were able to eventually.\u00a0<\/p>\n

\u201cBut when Kanye told the world that he and Kim had discussed aborting North [in July 2020], it was the breaking point in their marriage.\u201d<\/p>\n

In May 2018, Kanye received major backlash after he said during an interview that after hearing \u201cabout slavery for 400 years\u201d that sounded \u201clike a choice\u201d to him.<\/p>\n

Despite being able to eventually reconcile their troubled marriage after dealing with Kanye\u2019s public scandal, Kim was unable to move past<\/a> Kanye\u2019s words at his presidential bid<\/a> rally in South Carolina last year.<\/p>\n

He claimed Kim\u00a0considered aborting their eldest child North<\/a>, sobbing: “She had the pills in her hand. My girlfriend called me screaming, crying.<\/p>\n

“And God said, ‘if you f*** with my vision, I\u2019m going to f*** with yours.’ And I called my girlfriend and said we’re going to have this child.<\/p>\n

“Even if my wife were to divorce me after this speech, she brought North into this world.”<\/p>\n

Months of trouble for the couple followed Kanye’s comments, and, less than a year later, Kim was unable to most past their issues and filed for divorce<\/a>.<\/p>\n

The source said; \u201cThere was no turning back for Kim after that. She was able to brush off things that he said for shock value in the past, but she was in over her head as soon as he brought their children into it.\u00a0<\/p>\n
