Likewise, an attorney for the woman said she did not pay \u201ca single dollar\u201d to Bauer but received $300,000 from her insurance company.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cBased on that payment, Lindsey agreed to settle the lawsuit,\u201d read a statement from her attorney, Bryan Freedman.<\/p>\n<p>Hill also had filed a federal countersuit against Bauer last year in which she re-stated her battery claims and sought damages from Bauer according to proof at trial. The settlement resolves those counterclaims, too.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cTrevor Bauer and Lindsey Hill have settled all outstanding litigation,&#8221; read a statement from Bauer&#8217;s attorneys. &#8220;Both of their respective claims have been withdrawn with prejudice, effective today. Mr. Bauer did not make \u2013 and never has made \u2013 any payments to Ms. Hill, including to resolve their litigation. She claimed he went too far with rough sex without her consent, leading her to the hospital where she was diagnosed with an acute head injury and assault by strangulation.<\/p>\n<p>Bauer never was arrested or charged with a crime. He said the encounters were entirely consensual and also denied similar allegations made against him by other women.<\/p>\n<p>After Hill made her allegations public, Bauer was placed on administrative leave before being suspended by Major League Baseball for 324 games. He used her digital messages to portray her claims as a money grab<em>.<\/em><\/p>\n<p>\u201cNext victim. Star pitcher for the dodgers,\u201d read one text she sent to a friend before she met Bauer, according to the video.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWhat should I steal?\u201d she asked in another text, in reference to visiting Bauer\u2019s house in Pasadena for the first time, according to the video.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cSince then, her legal team has approached me multiple times about coming to a financial settlement,\u201d Bauer said in the video, noting he retained his right to speak publicly about the case. \u201cBut as I have done since day one, I refused to pay her even a single cent.\u201d<\/p>\n<h2>What did the woman&#8217;s attorney say?<\/h2>\n<p>Freedman, Hill&#8217;s attorney, issued a statement Monday.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIn what turned out to be an outstanding resolution for Lindsey, neither Lindsey nor anyone on her behalf paid anything to Bauer,&#8221; the statement read. &#8220;Not a single dollar. Even better, Lindsey received $300,000 dollars from her insurance company. Based on that payment, Lindsey agreed to settle the lawsuit. Now that the lawsuit is over, Lindsey looks forward to helping others.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>After hearing evidence in the case in August 2021, a judge in Los Angeles said she found Hill\u2019s original application for a temporary restraining order in June 2021 to be &#8220;materially misleading\u201d and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.usatoday.com\/story\/sports\/mlb\/dodgers\/2021\/08\/19\/trevor-bauer-dodgers-restraining-order-rescinded-judge\/8191147002\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" data-ylk=\"slk:denied the woman\u2019s request for a five-year restraining order;elm:context_link;itc:0\" class=\"link \">denied the woman\u2019s request for a five-year restraining order<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Bauer also sued journalists and publications over <a href=\"https:\/\/www.usatoday.com\/story\/sports\/mlb\/2023\/06\/28\/trevor-bauer-the-athletic-lawsuit-defamation\/70365278007\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" data-ylk=\"slk:how they reported on Hill's allegations;elm:context_link;itc:0\" class=\"link \">how they reported on Hill&#8217;s allegations<\/a> but since has ended those lawsuits, too, including one against the website Deadspin that was <a href=\"https:\/\/www.usatoday.com\/story\/sports\/mlb\/2023\/03\/02\/trevor-bauer-defamation-lawsuits-deadspin-dismissed\/11383716002\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" data-ylk=\"slk:thrown out by a judge earlier this year;elm:context_link;itc:0\" class=\"link \">thrown out by a judge earlier this year<\/a>. A woman in Arizona still has an active lawsuit against him <a href=\"https:\/\/www.usatoday.com\/story\/sports\/mlb\/2023\/06\/13\/trevor-bauer-new-sexual-assault-allegation-arizona\/70319689007\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" data-ylk=\"slk:in which she accused him of sexual assault in late 2020;elm:context_link;itc:0\" class=\"link \">in which she accused him of sexual assault in late 2020<\/a>. He has denied those allegations, too, and has countersued her, accusing her of fraud.<\/p>\n<p>Bauer, 32, said he sued Hill to help clear his name.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cQuite frankly, regardless of the outcome in court, I\u2019ve paid significantly more in legal fees than (the woman) could ever pay me in her entire life, and I knew that would be the case going in,\u201d Bauer said in the video. \u201cBut the lawsuit was never about the money for me.
