Divorce lawyers have welcomed a plan to introduce specialist family courts where judges will focus on separating couples’ rows over money.<\/p>\n

Judicial heads say new “Financial Remedies Courts” will be trialled in London, the West Midlands and South Wales next year.<\/p>\n

The move has been announced by Sir James Munby, the most senior family court judge in England and Wales.<\/p>\n

Specialist lawyers say the new courts, where judges will make decisions on only the “financial aspect” of divorce proceedings, are a step in the right direction.<\/p>\n

“This change will ensure that specialist complex cases are heard by specialist judges, with the right support in place in the court centres,” said John Oxley, who is based at law firm Vardags.<\/p>\n
