When I was first going through my divorce<\/a>, I just wanted to wake up from the nightmare that was my life and let out a really huge scream.\u00a0 I didn\u2019t want to eat, I couldn\u2019t sleep.\u00a0 Focus?\u00a0 What was that?\u00a0 Life as I knew it died.\u00a0 And it was an excruciating death.\u00a0 Then, I started looking at the bright side. I got perspective \u2013 one that positively changed my life forever.<\/p>\n

Divorce can be an OPPORTUNITY<\/em>!\u00a0 Here are 10 reasons that looking at the bright side of divorce can completely change your perspective, your divorce experience, and your life:<\/h2>\n

1. What do I want \u2013 how do I get it?\u00a0<\/strong><\/h2>\n

This is a question you may not have asked yourself in a while.\u00a0 The possibilities are truly endless and they\u00a0are<\/em>\u00a0in your control.\u00a0 You need a strategy.\u00a0 This is where gaining insight into your finances<\/a>, a divorce coach, a therapist, and a support group can be invaluable.<\/p>\n

2. Never before\u2026<\/strong><\/h2>\n

Have you had the ability to truly start again and be who you want to be, be proud of what you become, and thrive in a way you forgot you can. You have been on an emotional roller coaster and it\u2019s not what you want.\u00a0 It\u2019s time to get off!<\/p>\n

3. Who am I?\u00a0<\/strong><\/h2>\n

When you are in the divorce process<\/a>, you wonder \u201cwho am I & how did I become who I am\u201d?\u00a0 This is natural.\u00a0 We change so much to make the marriage work that we lose ourselves.\u00a0 Often we are not the person we want to be.\u00a0 Take time to remember who you are, to appreciate the fun loving person you will become again.<\/p>\n

4. My real friends are\u2026\u00a0<\/strong><\/h2>\n

Friends and loved ones are what makes life worth living. Through this process, you will truly learn who your friends are and how wonderful it is to have them in your life.\u00a0 Your relationships will rise to a new level, one that you will ultimately be very grateful for.<\/p>\n

5. My new friends are\u2026\u00a0<\/strong><\/h2>\n

They will seem to come out of the woodwork. Others who have experienced this trying time will be there for support.\u00a0 Many are people you sort of knew and others will be the new blessings you will bring into your life.\u00a0 They will help teach you and guide you to a new and wonderful you.<\/p>\n

6. Replace the negative void.\u00a0<\/strong><\/h2>\n

Divorcees have put in enormous energy and time into the painful ends of their marriage.\u00a0 At this point they can fill it with all the light and positive activity they have ever dreamed of.\u00a0 There is a huge void of time and negative energy to replace \u2013 fill it wisely and you WILL be happy.<\/p>\n

7. Reconnect.\u00a0<\/strong><\/h2>\n

Divorce has a tendency to make people withdraw and strain precious friendships.\u00a0 This is an opportunity to really connect and build the friendships that will enhance your life.\u00a0 (See my real friends are\u2026)<\/p>\n

8. Reconnect (Part duex)<\/strong><\/h2>\n

Reconnect with yourself. Probably a foreign concept at this point.\u00a0 Be good to yourself, a little self-care goes a long way<\/a>.\u00a0 What have you missed about yourself?\u00a0 Reinvigorate it.\u00a0 Learn something new \u2013 be something new.<\/p>\n

9. I will love again like never before.\u00a0<\/strong><\/h2>\n

At first you may be scared, at times bold, but one thing is for sure \u2013 you have learned so much about what you want and need. Don\u2019t settle for less & he\/she won\u2019t give you less.<\/p>\n

10. How am I going to get through this?\u00a0<\/strong><\/h2>\n

See above. This is your summary, you conclusion, your time to ponder what makes life beautiful and, YES, how you are going to have it all!<\/p>\n
