Where do I start?<\/strong><\/h2>\n<h2>1. <strong>Make a Checklist<\/strong><\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li><em>Run<\/em>\u00a0a credit report. This is the baseline for assessing your current financial situation and how you will move ahead on your own.<\/li>\n<li><em>Develop<\/em>\u00a0a budget to be used before, during, and after the divorce process.<\/li>\n<li><em>Create<\/em>\u00a0a safe place to receive information. A secure place to receive mail and digital information is essential.
