A top New York divorce lawyer has detailed the key differences between men and women when it comes to cheating, as well as their opposing reactions to discovering infidelity.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Survey results published<\/a> earlier this year stated that around half of people in married relationships<\/a> cheat on their spouse at least once during the course of their partnerships.<\/p>\n

While some do the deed<\/a> because of anger or a lack of self-esteem, others claim it is because they\u2019re suffering from a lack of love or because they are seeking sexual pleasure and variety, as per<\/a> Vogue.<\/p>\n

When it comes to divorce<\/a>, infidelity is often cited as a major cause.<\/p>\n

According to<\/a> the Law Offices of Sacks & Sacks, cheating or extramarital affairs in the United States<\/a> accounted for 59.6 per cent of divorces.<\/p>\n

One man who has helped both men and women through numerous divorce proceedings is James Sexton, a Diary Of A CEO<\/em> podcast<\/a> regular and New York native.<\/p>\n

In October, the attorney spoke<\/a> to LADbible Stories and took part in the YouTube<\/a> channel\u2019s Honesty Box series.<\/p>\n

Over 31 minutes, Sexton answered various questions about divorce, offering insight into how both women and men cope as their marriage falls apart.<\/p>\n

Toward the end of the conversation, the lawyer explained that in his opinion, both sexes practise infidelity differently.<\/p>\n

\u201cI would say in my experience, men cheat more but women cheat better,\u201d the law expert stated.<\/p>\n

\u201cWomen go big or go home, you know. Men just like to do dumb s***t a lot of the time.\u201d<\/p>\n

Sexton further revealed that not every instance of cheating is the same, remarking that a \u2018dalliance\u2019 is a lot different compared to a full-blown affair.<\/p>\n

He also explained that men and women react to finding out about infidelity differently, too.<\/p>\n

\u201cI\u2019ve said it before, although it\u2019s not a popular thing to say out loud, when a man finds out that his wife cheated, his first question is \u2018did you f**k him?\u2019.<\/p>\n

\u201cWhen a woman finds out her husband cheated, the first question is usually \u2018do you love her?\u2019.\u201d<\/p>\n

Sexton remarked that those two reactions \u2018say a lot about what happens in these dynamics\u2019.<\/p>\n

\u201cBecause the question is, \u2018What does this mean to you? Does this person mean more than I do?\u2019 versus \u2018Has this person like taken my property? Has this person touched my property?\u2019.<\/p>\n

\u201cSo it says something about our sort of internal biases about how we approach our spouse and approach marriage.\u201d<\/p>\n
