A DIVORCE lawyer has revealed the huge tell-tale high a married couple won\u2019t last, and it\u2019s obvious before they even say \u2018I do\u2019.<\/p>\n

Appearing on a recent episode of the Human Talk<\/a> podcast Lawyer James S. Sexton shared some of his thoughts on the matter.<\/p>\n

According to the pro, it\u2019s clear when a couple are in it for the wrong reasons from their wedding day.<\/p>\n

\u201cI believe sometimes the bigger the wedding, the more likely the divorce<\/a>. That\u2019s been my experience,\u201d James explained.<\/p>\n

And it\u2019s not just the wedding that\u2019s a dead giveaway either, James added that he can also predict if someone will call it quits if they\u2019ve got an especially big ring too.<\/p>\n

He called big weddings<\/a> \u201cextremely performative\u201d as well as \u201cnarcissistic\u201d on the podcast.<\/p>\n

This, he explained, is all because the whole spectacle of a big wedding comes down to attention.<\/p>\n

From posting the big ring on social media, to having a posh engagement party, followed by a bunch of activities based around planning the wedding where everything is focused on the bride-to-be.<\/p>\n

Then there\u2019s the hen-do, maybe even a rehearsal dinner and the big day, followed by a big honeymoon.<\/p>\n

\u201cIf this is really important to you, you\u2019re telling me a lot about yourself. You\u2019re telling me how important being the centre of attention is to you,\u201d James said.<\/p>\n

After sharing his thoughts, it turns out James wasn\u2019t the only person who thought big weddings were a bad sign.<\/p>\n

\u201cI was a wedding photographer for 5 years, 80% of the weddings I was hired to do ended up in divorce. I had to put a new clause in my contract because people asked for refunds post divorce,\u201d one commented.<\/p>\n

A second has a similar experience: \u201cI\u2019m a makeup artist and I can 100% tell who is going to be divorced by the way the brides morning goes & how the groom treats the bride.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cAs a professional violinist who has played hundreds of weddings? I 100% agree with this. 100%,\u201d another chimed in.<\/p>\n

\u201cMost people plan for a wedding and not a marriage<\/span>,\u201d someone else commented.<\/p>\n

And another wrote: \u201cHe\u2019s absolutely right, it all screams validation!\u201d<\/p>\n

Previously, a wedding planner also revealed she could tell when a couple weren\u2019t in it for the long run too \u2013 and it all comes down to a few signs.<\/p>\n

Cake smashing<\/h2>\n

Cake smashing\u00a0<\/a>is a viral trend that has soared in popularity in recent years.<\/p>\n

It sees the newlyweds smash wedding cake into each other\u2019s faces, in what is supposed to be a fun and playful moment of the wedding.<\/p>\n

However, Birdie says the\u00a0tradition spells doom<\/a>.<\/p>\n

\u201cI don\u2019t know what it represents, but none of my brides and grooms that did it are still together\u201d, she said.<\/p>\n

Planning things on the sly<\/h2>\n

Couples often have strict budgets for their weddings, but Birdie says she has seen plenty of incidents where one person will respect the budget, and the other won\u2019t.<\/p>\n

For example, she revealed that sometimes a bride-to-be will ask her to \u201cadd this to the flowers\u201d, and to promise not to tell her fianc\u00e9 about the added cost.<\/p>\n

\u201cThose people are getting divorced\u201d, she said.<\/p>\n

Husbands that aren\u2019t bothered<\/h2>\n

Many women dream of planning their wedding day from a young age, but some men couldn\u2019t care less about the flower arrangements, or the colour scheme.<\/p>\n

\u201cIf his one job was to pick a DJ, and we\u2019re a week before the wedding, and he hasn\u2019t gotten it done, that husband is completely checked out\u201d, Birdie said.<\/p>\n

The wedding planner\u2019s video, which was posted under the username\u00a0@biride1216<\/a>, has likely struck a chord with many people, as it has racked up an impressive 2.7 million views.<\/p>\n
