While allegations of infidelity and domestic abuse are the reason for Mel’s divorce from her husband of 10 years<\/a>, Stephen Belafonte, the Spice Girl’s ex thinks there’s more to it.<\/p>\n

Mel’s ex-girlfriend Christa Parker thinks it was the death of her dad, Martin Brown,<\/a> from cancer in March which caused their break up.<\/p>\n

The two dated before the 41-year-old began her romance with Stephen, meeting while dropping their kids off to school.<\/p>\n<\/section>\n

While Christa thinks Martin’s death was the catalyst for the demise of Mel’s marriage, she also thinks it brought her closer to her family.<\/p>\n

The America’s Got Talent judge did not speak to her family for almost eight years, but following Martin’s death they have since reconciled.<\/p>\n
