Lawyer Michael Avenatti is too busy defending porn star Stormy Daniels to attend to important business involving his own wife – who desperately wants a divorce, she told Fox News.<\/p>\n

The ubiquitous attorney, who has become CNN’s favorite prime time guest, represents the porn queen, who claims she had a 2006 fling with President Trump and believes Trump is defaming her by denying it. But while he is basking in the limelight, his wife says their divorce proceedings have stalled.<\/p>\n

\u201cI need to be divorced and if [Michael Avenatti] continues to paint the narrative, he can ignore our case!\u201d Lisa Storie-Avenatti wrote in a text message from their home in Newport Beach, Calif. Storie did not explain what she meant by \u201cthe narrative\u201d and how exactly Avenatti was ignoring the divorce.<\/p>\n

Storie married Avenatti in 2011. Just months before he started pursuing the legal challenge against Trump, he filed for divorce. Court records claim Storie kicked him out of the house and changed the locks.<\/p>\n

Avenatti has been on a non-stop media blitz since bursting onto the scene earlier this year and has appeared on broadcast and cable news shows a whopping 147 times and counting over the past 10 weeks, according to the\u00a0Media Research Center<\/a>. The study indicates that 74 of the appearances were on CNN \u201cwhich almost certainly makes Avenatti the most ubiquitous guest in the network\u2019s history.\u201d<\/p>\n

The New York Times reported on Thursday that television agent Jay Sures has\u00a0pitched a debate program<\/a>\u00a0with CNN and MSNBC executives where Avenatti\u00a0would battle former White House communications director Anthony Scaramucci on a nightly basis \u2013 but the outspoken lawyer claims he isn\u2019t interested at the moment.<\/p>\n

The irony of Avenatti painting himself as a champion of women while negecting the pressing domestic matter is evident in his own recent tweet.<\/p>\n

The tweet was accompanied with a quote from poet Maya Angelou reading: \u201cEach time a woman stands up for herself, without knowing it possibly, without claiming it, she stands up for all women.\u201d<\/p>\n

Storie\u00a0criticized media reports that claim they are already legally separated.<\/p>\n

\u201cEveryone reports we are divorced. That does not help my goal to get a divorce,\u201d she said. \u201cCan you imagine divorcing him?\u201d she added.<\/p>\n

The lawyer\u2019s performances across Stormy-hungry media have earned him unchecked attention for months and brought him new friends over his scrutiny of Trump\u2019s personal lawyer, Michael Cohen.<\/p>\n

Along the way, however, Avenatti underwent scrutiny. He\u2019s facing questions over his past business failings and how he obtained Cohen’s bank records, while the State Bar of California is investigating him after a complaint was filed regarding allegedly unpaid taxes.<\/p>\n

Among his new acquaintances is model and Billy Joel\u2019s ex-wife Christie Brinkley, who was seen dining and chatting late into the night with Avenatti on Saturday, TMZ reported.<\/p>\n

His wife was receptive to the news of a possible romance, saying \u201cI\u2019d be more than happy if he dated a nice woman.\u201d<\/p>\n

She then added: \u201cBetter than porn stars.\u201d<\/p>\n

Storie backtracked when quizzed about it, saying \u201cporn star is not his type if that\u2019s what you want to know. No story here except what you see on TV.\u201d<\/p>\n

It remains unclear what the exact reason is for the divorce. Storie confirmed that she kicked him out of the house, though noted that it had nothing to do with Stormy Daniels. She declined an in-depth interview regarding the case, but asked to read court records and said,\u00a0\u201cTell me where our money and his time has been spent.\u201d<\/p>\n

Court records detail Avenatti\u2019s extravagant lifestyle, with monthly expenses running to about $40,000. He\u2019s a noted collector of watches and artwork, uses a private jet to travel, and leases expensive cars, his wife claimed in case documents.<\/p>\n

In a combative phone call with Fox News on Thursday, Avenatti said he had \u201cno idea what you\u2019re talking about.\u201d<\/p>\n
