The Shocking Way Jennifer Aniston’s Divorce with Justin Theroux Mirrors Her On-Screen Relationship I…

Since The Morning Show dropped on Apple TV, fans and critics cannot stop talking about it. Not all of the discussions are positive, but most fans love the show. Some claim that Jennifer Aniston (Alex Levy) and Reese Witherspoon (Bradly Cooper) are why they began watching, but they stay because they have been sucked into the storyline

One of the story arcs involves Alex and her husband’s separation. It actually mirrors her own separation and divorce with Justin Theroux closely. Let’s take a look at how. Warning: Season 1 Spoilers

The most massive post-split challenge is the same on-screen as it is off-screen

On The Morning Show, Alex is torn to pieces by what both her daughter and the media will say about her divorce. She already is fighting to stay afloat in her career since Mitch Kessler (Steve Carrel) was fired from the show for sexual misconduct allegations. Alex is not sure that her image can take much more.

Aniston’s former husband, Theroux, indicated that one of his biggest post-split challenges also has been navigating the media. It turns out; the media outcry is horrendous in both scenarios.

“How do you combat gossip and rumor?” The actor posed the question to People. “And it’s just on crack and steroids now. In a weird way, just sort of navigating the inevitable perception of it is the exhausting part.”

A publicist released the couple’s statement that their decision to part ways was “mutual and lovingly made at the end of last year.” It sounds very familiar to what Alex’s PR reps are going to be telling the press during The Morning Show. Could it be so similar because Aniston is executive producing the show?

Both separations were amicable—although Aniston’s character was distraught

“The good news is that was probably the most — I’m choosing my words really carefully — it was kind of the most gentle separation, in that there was no animosity,” Theroux told People.

“Again, neither one of us is dead, neither one of us is looking to throw hatchets at each other,” he continued. “It’s more like; it’s amicable. It’s boring, but, you know, we respected each other enough that it was as painless as it could be.”

On-screen, Aniston’s character is distressed over the impending divorce, although she has been separated from her husband for quite some time. The separation itself was also very amicable.

They went about their separate lives and thing seemed to be working. Alex’s only hold-up on the divorce is what her daughter and the media will think about the entire thing.

There is one stark difference from Aniston’s character on-screen versus off-screen

In The Morning Show world, Aniston’s character has a daughter. Alex works long brutal hours without much time for family. Her career takes up her entire life, similarly to Aniston off-screen. However, Aniston and Theroux do not have a child to worry about.

“[It’s] kind of a carny lifestyle,” Theroux explained to the Times of life in Hollywood. “[A split] doesn’t have that seismic shift of an ordinary couple, where everything is, like, you have to tear a baby in half.”

For this reason, the on-screen divorce is going to be much more complicated than it was for Aniston and Theroux.

You can see how the divorce plays out when Apple TV+ drops their next Morning Show episode every Friday. To watch the show, you will need a subscription to Apple TV+ and the app on your device.
